Developing Activity Tourism in Europe
Grundtvig Partnerships Project No: 2009-1-GB2-GRU06-01466
|
|
Developing Activity Tourism in Europe (DATE)
is a European project funded by the Grundtvig
Lifelong Learning Partnership programme.
Activity Tourism (AT) is in its formation and
currently is ill defined, although many activities
currently take place across Europe and often in
rurally disadvantaged areas. A lot of current AT
learning occurs during informal and non-formal
learning scenarios and is therefore not recognised
or accredited.
|
What's involved?
The project involves 5 partners from Scotland,
Spain, Malta, The Netherlands and Romania.
The project will lead the partners to reach a
consensus regarding a definition of Activity
Tourism and provide partners with a baseline
understanding of Activity Tourism in partner
States. Issues to be addressed include gaining an
overview of the qualifications currently available
in partner countries, as well as identifying
opportunities in each Member State and the
potential for any Inter-European co-operation
to develop a European recognised qualification.
|
Objetives

and develop a common understanding
of what constitutes AT in each State.
To compare current adult education
provision in AT in each partner's State.
To develop models for modern innovative
curricula in AT.
To organise mobilities and activities for staff
and adult learners to experience AT in other
